I ponder on why a deer has been the animal I have loved most since childhood. Perhaps it is that they are not hunters, but specialist gathers of plants. I enjoy their size, form, and shape.

I am fortunate in that fallow and roe deer are common to the woodlands and fields close to my home, but I also enjoy the far flung gazelle, moose, elk, and antelope.

With this stylised artwork of a female deer I think of its beauty of spirit as nature surrounds her.
