My first self portraits were drawn forty five years before this. At that time I attempted to reflect upon those complex and often contradictory facets of the surface of this thing I know as me. Here I am older, with an intense focus, surrounded and infused by the colours and forms of nature. This only looks a little like me, but expresses much about me.
