A chamaeleon dream-like form looks out from an unknown place.
No sooner than my eye lands on the trace of a facial feature, it moves to somewhere else across the intricate faceted surface. I sense the luminescent golds, rust, greens and blues as both beautiful and troubling.
This image is of one and many. Something very different than I, other, unnamed. I am uncertain whether I should welcome or be wary of it, of them. One thing I know for sure is that it is, they are, strong and full with life. It, they, watch me with equal ambivalence.
Mystery and imagination enrich my existence. When I experience and consider something unfamiliar my senses grow alert, I feel vital, alive. I enjoy the ideas of the future and improbable as they push the boundaries of my thoughts to places I might not otherwise visit.
By observing my response to a place of discomfort through art, by facing the unknown head on, I increase the possibility of discovery, of finding what is, out there..
